30th april
tribute to humph by the isihac teams
The teams from I’m Sorry I Haven’t a Clue will pay their own special tribute to Humph in a special show. It will be broadcast Sunday 11th May on Radio 4. I do not have a time yet, but I would expect noon.

28th april
repeat of sunday’s classic show
For anyone who like me missed the classic show from 1995, you can still listen to it on Listen Again until this coming Sunday. It is a show from 1995, and also features Willie Rushton in fine form.

27th april
humphrey lyttelton, 1921-2008
As you may have heard by now, Humph peacefully passed away on Friday evening; family and friends were present. Our condolences go out to his family at this sad time. Tributes and messages can be sent through his web site.

tribute to humph
Radio 4 will broadcast a special programme in tribute to Humphrey Lyttelton this Wednesday, 30th April, at 9.00am, and repeated again at 9.30pm

the sad news
I am sorry it has taken until today to update the web site, but I have been away for the last week.

Like all the fans of the show, I was deeply saddened to hear the news of the passing of Chairman Humph. He was the linchpin of this marvellous show, conducting it with the skill and grace of his trumpet playing. He was a warm favourite with all generations, both those who have listened over the decades and those who only recently found the show. Here’s to you Humph, many thanks for all your adjudications!

When I hear some news about the future of I’m Sorry I Haven’t a Clue I will pass it on.

19th april
well wishes for humph
Updates to Humph’s progress can found on his web site. Get well messages can also be sent to him from the contact page there.

spring series recordings
Jon Naismith, the series producer, has released the following statement:

I was expecting to announce the venues and dates of recordings in the Spring series of "I'm Sorry I Haven't A Clue", but unfortunately I've had to put these plans on hold as Humphrey Lyttelton has been detained in hospital for an operation to repair an aortic aneurysm.

We are unclear precisely how long Humph's recovery period will be, but it seems very likely that the Spring Series of "I'm Sorry I Haven't A Clue" will have to be postponed.

Humph is otherwise fine and in very good spirits. However, if you wish to write him a get well message, send him an email to this address with the subject 'Get Well Humph' and I'll print it off for him. I imagine it'll be nice for him to have something to read in his hospital bed.

There's no need to worry if you have tickets for our "I'm Sorry I Haven't A Clue" Tour Show at the Bournemouth Pavilion this Tuesday (22nd April). I'm delighted to say that ISIHAC favourite Rob Brydon has kindly agreed to deputise for Humph.

With best wishes,

Jon Naismith Producer, I'm Sorry I Haven't A Clue

18th april
humph admitted to hospital
Humph was admitted to hospital on Wednesday diagnosed with an aortic aneurysm. He is reported to be in good spirits. As a result, Humph will not be able to appear in next Tuesday’s ISIHAC Official Stage Tour show at Bournemouth. Rob Brydon will be standing in for him. The theatre has released a formal statement about this.

If you want to send a get well message to Humph send an email with the subject of “Get Well Humph” to isihac@btinternet.com.

For Jazz fans, this also means he will not be appearing at the 2008 Axis Festival on 3rd May. More information on this can be found here.

1st april
new book out next month
While it has been all quiet here the tour has been going great guns. There has been no news on recordings for the next broadcast series yet. In the meantime, there is a new book coming out in early May - The New Uxbridge English Dictionary. This should keep you chortling away until the next series starts.
