spy Yorkshire has a rich espionage heritage. In fact Ian Fleming set a
James Bond in this very county, From Ilkley with Love, in which 007
battled the Yorkshire supervillain Scarboroughmanga. The teams are asked to
play a version of I Spy adapted for Yorkshire .

and proverbs new! The Yorkshire Dales are home to
Britain's highest pub, the Tan Hill Inn, where in 2021 sixty customers
who had come to see an Oasis tribute band were snowed in for 2 days. One
customer said of the experience "It wasn't so bad, the band played and the
landlord gave us all soup. Best of all, you got a roll with it."
In this
round the Chairman tests the team's knowledge of Yorkshire sayings and
proverbs. He reads out the first part of some Yorkshire sayings and their job
is to try and complete them.

continuity As the population ages terrestrial UK broadcasters are increasingly
focussing their output on the older generation. But to survive into the future
all broadcasters are acutely conscious of the need to attract the young. With
this in mind the teams are asked to suggest continuity announcements for
certain radio and TV programmes that you think might make the shows more
appealing to our country’s youth.
